We are so excited to share this Don Valley Park engagement session, our first for the 2020 wedding season! The season of engagement flies by, so we love taking a couple hours, slowing down with our couples, and documenting this short but precious time in their lives! And Joy and KB were the perfect couple to get into our 2020 weddings! They’re sweet, kind, and have great taste in food! (Burger sauce for the win!)
When planning their engagement session, Joy and KB wanted somewhere that offered both nature and some urban elements. Joy had walked the Don Valley Brick Works Park trails (try saying that 10x really fast!) and loved the combination of the tall beautiful trees and the out-of-use train tracks that overlook the valley! By the time we finally arrived at the old rail line, we were huffing and puffing and our cheeks were very rosy, but it was worth the steep climb! We may have also waded through some burr bushes along the way…
The walk gave us an opportunity to get to know Joy and KB better, one of our favourite reasons to have an engagement session! Joy and KB officially met while they were serving in a youth ministry. They had run in similar circles for years, but the 4-year age gap meant they never overlapped in high school and university. What first attracted KB to Joy was how well she personified her name (we totally noticed this too!). Always smiling, laughing, and light-hearted! And it was so beautiful seeing the way KB watched his fiancée, with such gentleness in his eyes…
