The guests crowded along the second-floor railing of the reception room. The entire bridal party clustered together on one end of the head table. Banding together. Determined they wouldn’t fail. Their phones out.
The screen lit up with the next question. “What was Stuart’s earliest memory of Eirwen?”
A) Her Yellow Sweater
B) Her Smile
C) Her Laugh
D) Her Amazing Clarinet Skillzzz
The MC had promised a prize. If anyone—just one out of a 150+ guest list—got a perfect score, Eirwen and Stuart would have to kiss.
The guesses were in and the screen flickered to the answer: Her yellow sweater.
Kahoot. The quintessential high school game. As two high school teachers—Eirwen of math, Stuart of music—it was the perfect choice. But they hadn’t met as teachers. They hadn’t even met during teacher’s college or university. Their story began on the second day of ninth grade when a mutual friend introduced them and Eirwen wore her yellow sweater.
Eirwen and Stuart’s Holland Marsh Wineries wedding was a unique one for us; probably would have been for any photographer. The average wedding can be crazy and rushed. This wedding was different. Eirwen is a girl after our own hearts. She loves schedules and organization and she planned her beautiful day so well that Eirwen and Stuart had plenty of time for everything. Even eating. And actually spending time with the bridal party. And—believe it or not—with each other. We loved seeing how Eirwen and Stuart were able to take in the day and enjoy it so fully because they weren’t being rushed. The intentional scheduling was one way they cared for one another and how much they love spending time together; their day was about each other more than anything.
Eirwen and Stuart, we absolutely loved spending your wedding day with you! We felt so cared for by your family and friends not only physically (guys, I don’t think we’ve been offered food and drink so much before!), but emotionally. It was so lovely seeing how much your families and friends love you and how much you love them. It revealed the kindness shown to us as true and genuine. We are so encouraged and look forward to seeing you care for each other and the family you’re starting together in the years to come!
