Engagements

One of our favourite parts of this job is meeting new people and developing genuine friendships over the course of an engagement. From the moment Jackie and David gifted us with amazing artisanal chocolate, we knew they’d be one of those couples we’d fall in love with! (jk, but really)

Back in October, we shot David’s cousin’s wedding. David and Jackie weren’t there, but David’s mother approached us and asked for a business card. A few months later, Jackie contacted us. From our very first communication, we knew they were different. They are so kind, warm, and welcoming! I remember thinking: “People aren’t usually this hospitable in public!”

Jackie & David’s Toronto Island engagement session was a little different than usual. We spent almost twice the amount of time we typically do with a couple. We met them before boarding the ferry and together we wandered around the Islands exploring for a couple of hours. Walking between locations gave us quite a bit of time to get to know one another. They had some amazing restaurant recommendations and shared the story of their long-time (they met in 7th grade) and long-distance (he studied in Ireland) romance. We also found out we shared some mutual friends (which is always such a cool thing for me!) If you’ve been following us on IG, you’ll know that the session ended with us running across the islands, trying to make the ferry. (We didn’t make it.)

These two have shown us so much kindness and we truly couldn’t be more honoured to capture their love! It has been (continues to be!) such a joy to be a part of this special time in their lives!
