Weddings

This December wedding in Toronto was our last shoot of 2018! It was an adventure braving the cold with Emily and Kelston, especially in a sleeveless wedding dress!

We’ve known Emily for many years, so being able to shoot her wedding was an absolute joy! Emily and Kelston are also easily one of most photogenic couples we know, which made our job so much easier. They’ve got killer smiles, guys.

Emily and Kelston met at a wedding a couple years ago when mutual friends set them up. From the beginning, their relationship was almost a community event! It was amazing to see so many familiar faces in the crowd as everyone celebrated with the couple. The two families and communities really blended together in the ceremony as musicians, readers, and bridal party. It was truly a joining together of two lives! We love these kinds of weddings where the organization of the ceremony reflects the reality of marriage.

Both Emily and Kelston are very musical and we were all treated to their talents at the ceremony. They led worship together, with Emily on piano and Kelston singing. Emily herself also received a surprise from Kelston as he sang her a song before the officiant declared them husband and wife. (Scroll down to see a couple photos of them in action!)

From the crystal beading on Emily’s dress to the grandeur of the church, this wedding exuded an incredible balance of elegance and simplicity. We love this kind of wedding because it really puts the focus on the couple!

Ceremony: Grace Toronto Church
