Engagements

Guys, we are SO thrilled to share this financial district engagement session with you! Our excitement for this session may seem like an overreaction, but John is our brother, Naomi is one of Veronica’s best friends and they’ve liked each other for a decade. So this has been a long time coming.

Naomi and John “met” before Naomi was even born. Both sets of parents first got to know each other when they were pregnant with Naomi and Veronica. Growing up, the three of them (Naomi, John, and Veronica) were part of the same friend group that would hang out weekly. As they got into their teenage years, John and Naomi started liking each other. But then John went off to university and then so did Naomi. Despite attending different universities and losing touch, they hoped to find their way back to each other.

They hoped to find their way back to each other.

A few months before his graduation, John reached out to Naomi and they went out for lunch. They dated for 8 months and John proposed around Christmastime. (Naomi’s absolute favourite time of year–seriously, she starts singing “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” around July)

Although we won’t be able to shoot their wedding in November (we’re both in the bridal party), we were so happy to shoot their engagement. They pretty much gave us free rein on all the major decisions. We scouted a few weeks before, Veronica went shopping with Naomi, and the night before the session there may have been a small fashion show.

The session itself started out a little rough. It was incredibly hot and humid downtown (almost 30 degrees Celsius!) and John was wearing a full suit. It wasn’t easy, but these two are absolute rockstars! They pushed through the heat, the walking, and the Friday night crowds, and they are both absolute stunners in their photos! Their expressions translate so well on camera (John’s smile hasn’t changed from when he was a kid) and these guys are so clearly in love with their best friend!

Naomi and John, you guys are so so special to us! We never could have imagined that we’d get to walk along with you guys during this special time in this way! Getting to photograph first your proposal and now your engagement has been so meaningful for us and we will spend our entire lives being so thankful to have this memory! We love you guys so much and hope you enjoy your engagement photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!

Welcome to the blog!

This is where we share recent weddings & sessions, as well as informative articles, wedding planning tips, and a little bit about my life!

When I'm not shooting beautiful people in beautiful places, you're most likely to find me reading, taking walks along the beach, or trying out new restaurants with my husband!
